ABOUT THE DESIGN:
Hamilton, Ontario Canada - This Ain't Hollywood building opened in 1893 as the McKenzie House. In the 1930s, the building became a local hangout for the CN rail workers because the rail yards were close by. Also, thanks to its proximity to the docks, it was a local fav for sailors as well. In the 1960s, it was the Turbinia House and later was named Copper John’s. In 2009 This Ain't Hollywood rocked onto the scene, named after the title of a 1982 song by Hamilton punk band The Forgotten Rebels.

This illustration is featured in the revival of the animated series Sons of Butcher. It captures the gritty live music vibe that this venue is well known for. The strangely shaped building just adds to the uniqueness of the acts and patrons that have spent many hours rockin' and drinkin' the night away. The heart of This Ain't Hollywood will always beat long after the brick and mortar body is gone.
