Sons of Butcher – The Butcher Shop

Before I was creating vintage-inspired travel prints, I spent some time in a very different corner of Hamilton.

Once upon a time, I was the Background Director for the animated series Sons of Butcher on Teletoon, helping create the gritty Steeltown world inhabited by Ricky, Sol and Doug.

Lovingly braised in the steel crockpot known as Hamilton, Sons of Butcher was a rock & roll comedy marinated in Steeltown grit, questionable decisions and some seriously heavy riffs.

Now the boys are back, and in honour of the show's rise from the offal, I returned to a place I know very well.

About the Artwork

This illustration recreates the iconic Sons of Butcher butcher shop and apartment, home base for the world's greatest animated butcher-shop-owning rock band.

Having worked on the original series, revisiting this world was a particularly fun one for me.

The artwork was painSTEAKingly crafted from the finest cuts of Steeltown pride, recreating the wonderfully grimy shop and apartment with the SOB tour van parked outside, impatiently waiting to unleash the boys and their particular brand of rock & roll onto the world.

It's part nostalgia, part Hamilton, part rock & roll and probably at least 30% meat.

For longtime fans of the original series and those discovering the new incarnation of Sons of Butcher, this is a little piece of SOB history created by someone who helped build their animated world the first time around.

Limited Edition – Signed by the Cast

This one is special.

Only 30 signed and individually numbered 16" × 20" prints are available.

Each limited-edition print is signed by original Sons of Butcher stars Ricky Butcher and Doug Borski, along with members of the new cast.

And because I created the illustration and worked as an artist on the original series, I'll sign every limited-edition print as well.

30 prints. Individually numbered. Multiple signatures. No second run.

Once all 30 are gone, this signed edition is gone for good.

Printed on smooth 8 pt C2S stock with a matte finish.
