This Ain’t Hollywood was one of Steeltown’s most beloved live music venues, a wonderfully unpolished place where musicians, artists and music fans gathered for loud nights on James Street North.

This limited-edition 24" × 36" art print takes things considerably further than my original This Ain’t Hollywood illustration.

Instead of capturing just the exterior, this is the full experience.

About the Artwork

The artwork originated as a series of background layouts created for Season 3 of the animated series Sons of Butcher, bringing the unmistakable world of This Ain’t Hollywood into the equally unmistakable world of SOB.

For this piece, I've brought those environments together into one oversized composition celebrating the venue from the outside in.

You get the unique exterior façade, the wonderfully gritty lounge, the iconic live music stage plastered with band stickers, and even the rarely seen backstage sitting room.

Together, they create a visual tour through the building and a tribute to the musicians, fans and wonderfully colourful characters who passed through it.

At 24" × 36", there's enough room to let all those little details breathe. The stickers, signs, furniture, architecture and imperfections are all part of the story.

This wasn't a polished concert hall.

And that's exactly why people loved it.

Loud. Gritty. Weird. Welcoming. Unmistakably Hamilton.

The physical venue may be gone, but the memories created inside aren't. This piece captures a little bit of that history and preserves the rooms where so much of it happened.

Every print includes a 2" white border for a gallery-style presentation and is personally signed and numbered by me.
