Quiet lakes. Rocky shorelines. Towering trees. And nowhere you particularly need to be.

For generations, Muskoka has been one of Ontario’s great escapes, a place where winding roads disappear into the forest and cottages hide along the shores of countless lakes.

For some, it’s a weekend away. For others, it’s where entire summers were spent growing up.

Either way, there's something about arriving in Muskoka that makes everything seem to slow down.

About the Artwork

Unlike many of my prints that focus on a particular building or landmark, this vintage-inspired illustration isn't meant to represent one specific place.

Instead, I wanted to capture the feeling of Muskoka.

A quiet lake stretching into the distance. Trees reflecting across the water. Rocky shorelines, hidden cottages and that wonderful sense that civilization is somewhere comfortably far away.

It’s an artistic interpretation of all those little places scattered throughout cottage country that become incredibly important to the families who return to them year after year.

The dock where you drank your morning coffee.

The lake you learned to swim in.

The cottage road you could probably still drive with your eyes closed.

The sound of a boat somewhere across the water as the sun starts to disappear behind the trees.

Those are the things I wanted this illustration to evoke.

Not one particular lake. Not one particular cottage. Just Muskoka.

A little piece of Ontario cottage country and all the memories that come with it.

16" × 20" Art Print

Printed on smooth 8 pt C2S stock with a matte finish.
